Left equals right.
We design and build the instruments that decide when an athlete is ready to return. In Egypt, for the region.
A grade of 4 out of 5 can hide a real deficit.
Manual muscle testing is graded by hand and written as a whole number. Two clinicians disagree, and neither result can be compared next month. A measured curve shows exactly how far the injured side sits behind the healthy one.

"Good strength." Looks ready.
10 points below the 90% clearance line.
Five instruments. One measurement language.
Every instrument writes into the same athlete record, in the same units, against the same references.
Muscle Caliper
Handheld isometric dynamometer. Peak force, rate of force development, impulse and bilateral symmetry, captured as a full curve over Bluetooth LE.
SIA Gonio
Digital goniometerJoint range of motion to a tenth of a degree, against the other side.
In developmentSIA Anthro
Body anthropometryGirths, lengths and composition, so force normalises to body mass.
In developmentSIA VBT
Velocity-based trainingBar velocity per repetition. Load set by today, not last month.
In developmentSIA Plate
Dual force platformGround reaction force under each foot. Jump, landing, balance.
In developmentEvery number shows its working.
Specifications for Muscle Caliper D01. Values marked pending are published once validation is complete.
- One curveEvery metric is calculated from the same recording, so two numbers in a report never disagree.
- Cited referencesEvery comparison names its normative source, for example Thorborg 2014.
- Open methodFormulas and limits are published with each instrument.

The instruments measure. The app decides.
Muscle Caliper connects to the app over Bluetooth. Every test ends with a verdict, and the athlete and the clinician see the same report, in Arabic or English.

Three people in the room. One report.

Athletes
A clear answer on when you can return, and the progress to get there.
Clinicians
A defensible number in place of a graded guess, logged in one tap.

Coaches
Load and readiness for the whole squad, compared week on week.
Not rebadged. Built here.
Nearly every performance instrument sold in the region arrives in a box from somewhere else. Ours are designed, printed, wired and revised in Cairo, so support, pricing and every update are local.

A region that engineers its own future in human performance.
SIAHULAB, the Sports Injuries and Human Performance Engineering Lab, builds precise, connected instruments in Egypt that give clinicians, coaches and athletes one trusted measure of strength, symmetry and readiness.
Measured, not assumed
If we can't measure it, we say so.
Built here
Engineered in the region, competing with the world.
Symmetry
Balance between science and the person.
Precision as respect
An accurate number respects the athlete.
Clarity
A coach understands a result in five seconds.
Questions we are often asked.
If your question is not here, book a demo and ask us directly.
01What is the Muscle Caliper?
A handheld dynamometer that measures peak muscle force in newtons, on the left and on the right side. It is designed and built in Cairo by SIAHU LAB.
02What is LSI?
The Limb Symmetry Index compares the two sides: LSI = involved ÷ uninvolved × 100. An LSI of 100 means both sides produce the same force.
03How does it support return-to-play decisions?
It replaces visual estimates with measured force on each side, so the clinician can track asymmetry through rehabilitation and decide with numbers. Many return-to-sport criteria use an LSI threshold, often 90.
04Which units does it report?
Newtons (N) for absolute force, and N/kg for force relative to body mass.
05Who is it for?
Physiotherapists, sports physicians, performance coaches, clubs and federations.
06Can I see it before buying?
Yes. Book a 30-minute demo at your clinic or at our lab in Cairo, with one of your own athletes.
